They literally argued with me when I asked if it made sense that I just spent 1100$ and now I'm going to pay another 500$. I had to go through the dealer to get it resolved. This was the beginning of many frustrations. Console is difficult to navigate. iFit website is very frustrating and not always well collaborated with the machine. Cost to maintain is about 100$ per year. Plus yearly charge for website use, 80$ I believe. With all the new technology available the electronics of this bike and the sub par website is unacceptable for the cost. More than once have I wanted to just hop on the bike and get a quick work out in and I spent 15-30 minutes working through either website or equipment bugs. Map feature is just OK. The map updates and it is not as if you are riding on the road. Sometimes it is pretty cool when you find a nice scenic ride. When everything is working it is a good alternative to most indoor equipment. Not sure it is worth the frustration.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-72323176203858872792012-10-17T01:11:11.206-04:002012-10-17T01:11:11.206-04:00Piece of garbage right out of the box defective dr...Piece of garbage right out of the box defective drive train ... nightmare customer service ... 1400 dollars down the toilet. With the upcoming 2012 TdF on the horizon, I imagine they will go full into a marketing blitz and catch other people as well. Moving in two weeks certainly doesn't provide you much opportunity to deal with them on a return!

Best of luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296442059471583594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-36752915991895865292012-05-30T00:35:19.690-04:002012-05-30T00:35:19.690-04:00I just received my TDF2 tonight. I read reviews after I ordered mine, got scared and they noted on my invoice they would waive the 10% if I had to return it as I don't have time for CS as I am moving to China in 2 weeks. Dealing with them is the last thing I have time for right now. As you said, the original box had to be destroyed to get it out so all I can say is Arrggggghhhh!!!!Chucknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-73418491167210862232012-02-25T09:48:45.646-05:002012-02-25T09:48:45.646-05:00Hi,

The good news for me is that I finally received a working heart monitor and receiver. With a very short setup time, everything was working as it should. I think that the product is finally performing as it was originally advertised. I'll probably do one more post on the subject and then move on - plus it is almost staying light enough now to start back to my evening rides outside. :)

Thank you for the suggestion! I hope your unit continues to perform well. I envy you the ability to shift gears on the handlebars!

- ZekeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296442059471583594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-66298556162489672622012-02-25T08:02:11.547-05:002012-02-25T08:02:11.547-05:00Have you tried posting to their Facebook page? People seem to get a direct response by posting their problems there.

I have a Gen 2 only because Proform would not ship my order from early Sept. 2011, even by the end of December. I ordered from a dealer instead. It came with a free HR monitor that is apparently compatible with the bike. It's working fine so far, but I'm concerned, given all the problems others are having.Sherrynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-59899726795186831272012-02-01T14:25:19.358-05:002012-02-01T14:25:19.358-05:00Glad to hear training is going so well! Sorry about your physical obstacles and especially the death in the family.

Training has been going well so far, thanks to some unseasonable warm weather. I have a lot planned in the coming months so I expect to be more than ready for BRB in September.

I hope you thank them for being so passionate about putting on a great event. The spinner spins and I do get a workout. The Google Earth maps work very well and I've created some local rides and been able to "ride" them in my basement. The accuracy has been quite good. The incline (+20 & - 20 percent) adds remarkably well to the workout. Changing gears on the console is poor and I would expect the generation 2 model with shifters on the bars to be a big improvement in that regard.

Most of my issue is with the company and their poor response to my problems. All someone had to do was say "hey, you need to buy the $99.00 heart monitor adapter and you'll be fine..." That seems simple enough. I would gladly have done it to get that metric although, at a cost of $1299.00, I think it should have been part of the purchase cost. I'm also not pleased that they shipped the Gen 2 models with the handle bar shifters at the same time they were shipping my Gen 1 version. Either they should have sent me the Gen 2 OR they should have made their equipment backward compatible. Again, I would have purchased the bar shifters for the convenience. I've been lucky so far in not having the WiFi connectivity issues that many, many people have. Those problems would render Google Earth useless. You'd only have a very expensive spinner at that point.

Would I do it again? I would think long and hard before I'd purchase anything from ProForm again...

I hope your winter training is going well! You were spoken of quite fondly at the Blue Ridge Breakaway meeting this past Friday!

- ZekeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296442059471583594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-34733487782109956712012-01-29T17:11:04.618-05:002012-01-29T17:11:04.618-05:00Thank you... It really seems to be an amazing bike concept, a serious improvement to the standard sit-and-spin trainer. Even with these problems, have you gotten enough workouts to make it worth it? If you were to do it all again, would you make the purchase?Aaronhttp://www.steepclimbs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630751179432853395.post-77742105239947469012012-01-29T15:22:22.379-05:002012-01-29T15:22:22.379-05:00Sounds like you have a right to rant on this produ...Sounds like you have a right to rant on this product/company.
