Our friend Jim Artis continues to prepare for his upcoming Tour of Discovery: Ride for the Republic. Yesterday’s activities entailed picking up Fargo, his HPV quadricycle, in Charlotte, NC and getting it to Fayetteville for more prep work this weekend. This coming Monday will see the application of graphics and pin stripes. Kent “Mountain Turtle” Peterson continues on his route to Banff for the start of the race along the Great Divide. After apparently spending the night Potholes State Park, Kent has resumed his trek and now appears to be in Ritzville, WA headed in the direction of Spokane. Kent now appears to be riding surface roads paralleling I-90. I’m looking forward to his description of the ride thus far, especially yesterday’s interesting “triangle” route.
Hopefully, I’ll get through riding my John Deere tractor shortly and get to write about my own ride locally!
